The Sounds I Hear

I am sitting here in our office trying to get some work done, but am distracted by the noise coming from my living room.  I hear the sweet cooing of Miss Violet, who is just about 2 months old (Feb. 6th) and still just as easy going as can be. She started day care this week and all reports were glowing! :)  She has flashed us a few big smiles and boy is she cute!

I hear the whining voice of Gideon who will be turning 2 years old on Saturday (Feb. 5th).  He is still recovering from his first ear infection which presented him with a fever of 105!  Poor little guy could barely walk he was so sick. In the mist of his sickness I shared with my mother that I would give anything to have him be well and throwing a temper tantrum, so his whining voice this morning is music to my ears!  There is nothing worse then seeing your baby sick.

Finally, I hear the roaring and crashing of plow trucks as they bomb up and down our street and think how lucky I am to have Kenny home today!  I am lucky to have Kenny, period!  He is an amazing daddy who doesn't shutter at the thought of a trip to the grocery store with two kiddos. He is an amazing husband who encourages me to take time for myself to work out (I think he knows now how unbearable I can be when I don't exercise regularly), and to top it all off,  he makes beautiful dinners every night!  Boy, I have it made!

All in all, life is good!

One Month Old

It is hard to believe that it has already been one month since we welcomed our beautiful Violet Kathleen Walters to the world!  Is it possible to have been blessed with TWO angel babies?! YES IT IS!!  So far Violet is just a dream and her big brother Gideon appears to be quite the fan!  :) 

Although I have enjoyed my time home, I am planning on heading back to work early for a couple days a week until I officially start back on January 31st.  I am SOOOO looking forward to getting back into a REAL routine...I thrive on structure! I am in awe of stay at home mom's...wow, it must be the toughest job on earth!

We are also busy planning Gideon's 2nd birthday celebration!  We will be having it at the Peekaboo Center in Westbrook and have invited family and our very closest friends (and their little ones, of course). It is impossible to imagine our lives before our children...we are blessed!

And then there were FOUR!

On December 6th at 7:24 a.m. Kenny and I welcomed our baby girl, Violet Kathleen Walters, into the world! We immediately noticed the strong resemblance to our baby boy, or should I say our BIG BOY, Gideon!  There is no denying that they are siblings! 

We have now been home together for 7 wonderful days and the reality that Kenny will be returning to work in just 2 days definitely brings a small storm cloud over me, but I am so grateful for the 10 days we've had!

We are especially blessed this holiday season and are looking forward to an amazing 2011!

38 Weeks and Counting!

According to "What to Expect When You're Expecting," New Baby Walters SHOULD be close to 7 lbs...Bah, ha, ha...YEAH RIGHT!!  At last weeks ultrasound, he/she was estimated to weigh 5 lbs 14 oz!!  The first thought that went through my mind when hearing this was...HOLY HUGE!!  :)  Compared to our precious little 4 lb 7 oz baby boy Gideon, this one is a monster!  I think it is safe to say that I just don't grow big babies...but then again, who knows what will happen in the next 2-4 weeks! Yes, I just said 4 weeks!

At this point, I still feel fairly comfortable and can envision myself munching on turkey on Thanksgiving Day without a 4th member to our family! Heck, I can even envision entering a new month without a 4th member! Talk about a completely different experience from before! 

Below you will find the one and only preggo pic that I have taken this time around (taken this morning in our kitchen)!  Hopefully my next entry will be to introduce the Blogging world (which consists of my 4 followers, one of which is myself and all of whom will already be made aware of our arrival) to our newest addition!

Halloween Success!!

Hello all!

I believe it is safe to say that Chef Gideon Walters had a WONDERFUL Halloween this year! The day started off with a trip to Falmouth By the Sea for a visit with Grandy (and Uncle Timmy, Aunt Cathy & Aunt Patty)!  He was a HIT with the other residents and staff for sure!  :)

Our evening was spent with Kenny's side of the family on Tremont Street in Portland and we all had a great time.  Gideon especially loved shuffling through the leaves and all the special attention he received back at the house after trick or treating!  ;)  He sure is loved! 

As I begin to brainstorm costume ideas for next Halloween, (yes, I'm already in that mode) I'm going to keep it in the back of my mind that the last two years we have decided on costumes that showcase Kenny's interests...2009 an electric guitar and 2010 a chef.  Next year it may have to be my turn...can't you just see an adorable running shoe or free weight???  Hummm...I may need to pick up some new hobbies and QUICK!

Welcome to Our Life!

Hello friends and family!

With our recent departure from the world of social networking, we have decided to take a different approach to keeping our favorite people informed of our current shenanigan's! Soooo...welcome to THE WALTERS REPORT!

The biggest news to report at this time is that we are just days or weeks (preferably the latter) away from welcoming the newest member into our family!!  It is SO hard to believe that Gideon will soon be a big brother, and what a WONDERFUL big brother he will be!   We will post pictures of Baby Walters #2 just as soon as we meet him/her!  Any guesses on what this one may be????  :)
